Glass-front restaurant wine wall completed by PSL Custom Wine Cellar for a downtown bistro a short walk from the Sunrise Theatre.
The owner wanted diners to see the wine list the moment they walked in, since the bottles had been hidden in a back storeroom for years. We built a 12-foot wall behind the host stand with insulated glazing, walnut and steel racking for about 450 bottles and a ducted cooling unit vented to the roof. Staff now pull bottles in seconds, and the owner told us pre-show guests at the Sunrise Theatre ask to be seated near the wall.

Under-stair wine closet completed for an older Edgartown home a few blocks from Indian River Drive.
The homeowners had about 150 bottles stacked on the kitchen counter and a dusty closet under the stairs that nobody used. We stripped the closet, sealed it with a vapor barrier and closed-cell foam, then fitted stepped mahogany racking and a glass door. A small through-wall cooling unit vents into the laundry room next door, and the couple loved it so much they asked us to add a matching bar cabinet in the dining room.
Turnaround Time: 2 weeks
Price: $9,200

Walk-in wine cellar completed for a waterfront home on Thumb Point overlooking the Fort Pierce Inlet.
The owner wanted a real cellar for a 700-bottle collection, but the only free room was a west-facing spare bedroom that baked every afternoon. We insulated it to R-19 in the walls and R-30 overhead, sealed and covered the window, laid tile floors and lined every wall with floor-to-ceiling racks. A split cooling system keeps the noise outside, and the homeowner says it is now the first room he shows guests after the dock.

Most Fort Pierce homes have a spot that can hold wine, like a closet, the space under the stairs, a spare room or a dining alcove. The first step is checking that the walls and floor can take insulation, a vapor barrier and the weight of full racks.
Fort Pierce summers average highs around 90°F, and the humid season stretches from spring well into fall. PSL Custom Wine Cellar seals and insulates every Fort Pierce cellar first, so the cooling unit only has to handle the room and not the weather outside.
From there, the layout follows how you live. An open glass display suits a home that entertains often, while a private walk-in works better for a serious collection. Trim, millwork and paint are matched to the house, so the cellar looks like it was always there.
02
A luxury cellar is built around how you enjoy wine, not only how you store it. That can mean a tasting table, a decanting ledge, stemware storage and display rows that put your best labels at eye level.
Lighting is low-voltage, warm LED tucked under the shelves, so bottles glow without adding heat. Modern designs lean on metal, frameless glass and dark finishes, while a classic look brings in crown molding and rich wood tones.
03
Racks are sized to your actual bottles, from standard Bordeaux and Burgundy to Champagne and magnums. Correctly sized slots stop labels from scuffing every time a bottle comes out.
Wood adds warmth and classic craftsmanship, while aluminum and steel rods give a lighter, modern feel. Most cellars mix single slots, display shelves and case bins, so everyday bottles stay handy and bulk cases sit safely below.
Modular sections make it easy to add space as the collection grows.
04
A glass enclosure turns a wine collection into a feature of the living room, dining room or entry. Regular window glass will not hold the temperature, so these rooms use insulated glazing units, thermal breaks and airtight seals.
Sun exposure is checked before the layout is final, which matters in waterfront homes facing the Indian River Lagoon or the ocean. Frameless pivot doors, magnetic latches and compression gaskets keep the look clean while the cold air stays inside.
We start with a consultation to learn about your collection, how you plan to use the room and the look you want.
Next, the PSL Custom Wine Cellar team visits the property to measure the space, check the walls and floor, and look at power and routes for the cooling lines. Older homes near downtown Fort Pierce and newer builds out west often need very different prep, so this visit shapes the whole plan.
We then send over a design with the rack layout, bottle count, lighting and materials. You can review finish samples and make changes before any work begins.
During the build, our crew handles framing, insulation, vapor barriers and finishes, then installs and anchors the racks and wires the lighting.
We wrap up with a walkthrough together, checking rack stability, door seals, lighting and temperature before you load the first bottle.
